Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs. - Provide direct instruction to students in both small group and one-on-one settings. - Collaborate with general education teachers to create an inclusive classroom environment. - Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction and support as needed. - Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding student progress, goals, and challenges. - Advocate for students by working closely with school leadership and other staff members to ensure educational accommodations are in place. - Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including IEP documentation and progress reports. - Provide emotional and behavioral support to students, promoting a positive and inclusive classroom environment. - Participate in ongoing professional development and stay current with best practices in special education. - Support the social and emotional well-being of students, fostering a safe and supportive learning environment.
