Little Axe Public Schools
Little Axe Public Schools
Description
Little Axe School District is located in Cleveland County, eighteen miles east of Norman and 35 miles southeast of Oklahoma City. Little Axe is nestled in the heart of Oklahoma where the cross timbers rise eastward out of the plains. The rolling hills, post oak trees and abundant wildlife are reminiscent of the landscape during the Run of 1889, where Sooners and Boomers sought a better life from that "back east." It is a place rich with Native American heritage, rural pride and community spirit. The school district has one high school, one middle school and one elementary school with an active pre-school/early childhood program. The Little Axe schools are fully accredited by the Oklahoma State Department of Education and the middle and high school are also fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
