Middle School Mathematics Teacher Position

Excelsior Academy is looking for candidates that are energetic, enthusiastic, and committed to student success. Candidates must work well in a team environment, including participation in a coaching model for teaching. Candidates should have or be working toward, a professional or associate teaching license, or a bachelor’s degree.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Commits to delivering Excelsior Academy curriculum to all students equitably. Uses Direct Instruction approaches where required or recommended. Participates in team meetings and offers positive professional guidance and input. Develops and maintains a stimulating and nurturing environment that meets students’ individual and class needs. Shows empathy for and understanding of students. Prepares students adequately for all required assessments. Develops with parents and students a cooperative partnership based on mutual respect and objectivity. Facilitates resolution of problems that may arise with students and parents. Tracks students’ progress, achievement, and attendance.
