Description

Venture High School, a well-established charter school located in Marriott-Slaterville, Utah is now accepting applications for a part-time paraprofessional. Venture is committed to providing a unique and high quality educational alternative that is built on our pillar values of excellence, service, and leadership. At Venture High School all students are well-known by teachers and administration, small class sizes encourage more engaging approaches to classroom instruction, students are challenged to stretch their minds and abilities through deep questions and purposeful projects, students have opportunities to apply their knowledge and skill to the service of others and the community, and great teachers work together!

Specific duties include but are not limited to: Assisting medically impacted students with bathroom procedures, medication tracking, and other basic assistance with medical needs. Good organization skills, a positive and cooperative attitude, flexibility, and concern for the students with whom they will be working. Ability to work with many different students including students with disabilities. Excellent problem-solving skills.

Some specific responsibilities of this position include: tutoring students who struggle in math and reading; recording data on specific students on a regular basis; adapting lessons and teaching to fit student needs; creating and maintaining a positive relationship with students, parents, and other teachers; administering assessments to students to determine their needs and progress made; contributing to the forming and restructuring of tutoring groups; and helping students feel successful in school.
