Must hold a license issued by Utah State Office of Education.
The license must be in one of the following types: Special Education (K-12+) (Level 1), Special Education (K-12+) (Level 2), Special Education (K-12+) (Level 3), Special Education (K-12+) (ARL).
The license position area must be in one of the following areas: Learning Disabilities, Mild/Moderate Disabilities, Special Education (General).
The license must be in one of the following grades: 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th.
The license status must be active or about to graduate from a state-approved teacher preparation program.

Description

The Special Education Teacher is responsible for providing education to children with disabilities to support the Academy for Math, Engineering and Science (AMES). The Special Education teacher insures that individualized instruction is delivered when the IEP or the student's needs indicate such services are needed. The Special Education teacher will insure that adjustments, modifications, interventions and a differentiated curriculum are in place to support each student's individual needs. The Special Education teacher schedules and coordinates the IEP meetings and is responsible for insuring that State and Federal guidelines are being followed and that all appropriate reports are completed in a timely manner.
