Description
POSITION: School Custodian - 2nd Shift - 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Must have excellent people skills, be self-motivated, and demonstrate the ability to perform custodial duties under the direction of the Chief Custodian. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe interior in various buildings on campus and assist staff with various requests to allow for smooth operation of education services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Classrooms, offices, multipurpose rooms, entrances, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms and pool area.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Vacuum, mop, sweep, all floor areas including classrooms, offices, restrooms, etc. Sanitize, disinfect and clean all restrooms to include toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors, partitions, dispensers, etc.
- Restock supplies as necessary to include paper towels, toilet paper, etc.
- Perform general cleanup of all interior and exterior areas of the buildings as directed. Complete non-routine cleaning as directed by the Chief Custodian.
- Empty garbage and recycling daily.
- Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests.
- Correct unsafe conditions in work areas and immediately report conditions to the Chief Custodian.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of institutional and/or commercial cleaning duties.
- Knowledge of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling up to 50 lbs and constantly moving items correctly and safely.
- Frequent kneeling, bending, crouching and reaching.
- Frequent handling of various sizes and weights of items.
- Must be physically able to perform essential functions as listed.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others.
- Good moral character, honest, dependable and courteous.
- Able to follow instructions.
- School District/Building experience helpful.
Additional Duties: Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Chief Custodian or other school administrators as designated by the Head of School.
Employment is conditional upon receipt of an acceptable criminal background report and a child abuse registry check showing you are not on the registry at any level.
