Human Resources Specialist
(Full Time, Year Round)
NOTICE OF POSITION OPENING
Eden Prairie School District is seeking applicants for a Human Resources Specialist to provide high-level administrative, operational, and customer service support to the Human Resources Department and Expanded Learning & Ecosystem Development Department.
The position coordinates a variety of Human Resources programs and processes, including employee services, staffing support, leave and benefits administration support, Workers' Compensation coordination, budget support, compliance activities, and executive-level administrative functions. While Worker's Compensation coordination is part of the position, prior Worker's Compensation experience is not required. Training will be provided for candidates with strong customer service, organizational, and administrative skills.

Work Allocation Model
To ensure clarity of priorities and effective workload management, the following allocation model guides the distribution of responsibilities.
80% - Human Resources (Primary Assignment)
- Employee Services and customer support
- Human Resources and staffing support
- Benefits and leave administration support
- Human Resources budget coordination and claims support
- Workers' compensation coordination and claims support
- Executive and administrative support to Human Resources leadership
- Human Resources projects, communications, and process improvement initiatives
20% - Expanded Learning & Ecosystem Development
- Administrative support to Expanded Learning & Ecosystem Development leadership
- Coordination of meetings, events, and partnership activities
- Administrative support for workforce development, community education, and ecosystem initiatives
- Support for external engagement, communications, and strategic projects with learning platforms to include internships and certificate management
Note: Allocation may flex based on seasonal workload demands (e.g. hiring cycles, budget development, program launches).
Position requirements:
- Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- 3 years of executive administrative support experience, preferably in Human Resources, school district administration, or the public sector
- Experience managing confidential information and complex workflows
- Experience supporting budget tracking, financial processes, or fiscal reporting preferred
Experience with group planning, event planning or new initiative planning preferred

- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- High level of discretion and professionalism with confidential information
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to prioritize multiple competing demands in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in HRIS systems, financial systems, Microsoft Office, and data tracking tools
- Ability to interpret procedures, contracts, and regulatory requirements
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
Ability to work independently while supporting multiple leaders and priorities
Salary and Benefit Package
Annual Salary | $79,039 (per the Confidential Employee Agreement) |
