Position Description:
East Middle School is seeking a highly qualified instructional coach for the 2026-27 school year. The Instructional Coach will play a critical role in improving our teaching practices leading to high levels of student achievement. In a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, the coach works alongside teachers to strengthen instructional practices aligned with our vision for the student experience and for student learning:

Various roles and responsibilities may include:
- Collaborate with teachers in the implementation of high functioning professional learning communities with a focus on analysis of student work and the design of continual improvement to teaching practices.
- Support teachers in the design and delivery of high-quality, culturally responsive instruction that leads to high levels of student collaboration, participation and meaning making.
- Engage in research on best practice and provide professional learning and coaching through PLC teams and individual teachers on best practice.
- Serve as a resource to our Building Instructional Leadership Team in the development and monitoring of school improvement goals and design of professional learning.
Qualifications:
- Must have a valid MN teaching License. Preferably prior experience teaching in a middle school setting.
- Proven experience in instructional coaching, teacher leadership, and/or curriculum development.
- Deep understanding of research-based instructional practices, high functioning professional learning communities and adult learning. Proven commitment to continual learning.
- Demonstrated ability to build trusting relationships and collaborate effectively with educators.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
