Job Title: Grounds Worker (Summer Seasonal)
Location: District-wide
Effective up to six months
Monday - Friday; up to 8 hours per day
Rate of pay: $17.00 per hour
Reports to: Building & Grounds Director
Job Summary:
The seasonal grounds position performs assigned duties to assist full-time staff in the Buildings & Grounds Department. Duties include operating of a variety of district equipment.
Job Functions
- Perform grounds maintenance including mowing district grounds, care of flower beds and shrubs, trimming of trees
- Perform ball field maintenance including dragging of fields, irrigation, mowing, etc.
- Removal of trash and debris from trash bins at school district owned facilities
- Safe operation of a variety of district equipment such as mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers, hand tools
- Drive district vehicles
- Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as are apparent or assigned

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Knowledge and experience in grounds keeping
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Ability to work independently and follow directions.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to perform routine computer functions, including the use of email, internet navigation and Microsoft Word.
- Demonstrated prompt, regular and reliable attendance.
Physical Requirements

The employee is occasionally required to kneel, reach, stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
