Description

Our school district is committed to providing educational opportunities for all ages: Two elementary schools for grades K-6, offering half-day and all-day kindergarten 7-12 high school with grades 7-8 in a middle school setting Community Learning Center, providing an area learning alternative education environment Community Education, providing education for preschool aged children to adults South St. Paul's school district and community boundaries are nearly the same, fostering a feeling of family, with opportunities for parent and community involvement.

Mission Statement

South St. Paul High School was recently recognized by MSNBC as being in the top 4% of high schools in the nation. In conjunction with Newsweek magazine, MSNBC recently released a list of the top high schools identified according to a performance index devised by Jay Mathews, nationally known writer on education issues. His Challenge Index divides the number of IB (International Baccalaureate) or AP (Advanced Placement) tests given in a school by the number of seniors in the graduating class. This year, South St. Paul High School students took over 200 IB exams in twelve subject areas. The IB program offers a challenging curriculum to South St. Paul High School students grades 9 -12, as well as to students in more than 100 countries around the world. The curriculum promotes a well-rounded education along with public service and an awareness of global issues. Clearly it is our students and teachers who are the reason for our success. Their hard work and dedication to academic rigor is the reason South St. Paul High School can be ranked as one of the strongest IB programs in the country. We are honored to be placed in the top four percent of all American high schools.
