Nutrition Service Worker (6-hr) 2025-2026 School Year

Description:

• Possesses skills to carry out a large scale food service program.
• Assists in promoting the school lunch program, the nutritional well being of each student, and the orderly and effective operation of the kitchen.
• Accepts responsibility for tasks designated by the manager.
• Participates in the preparation, cooking, and baking of a variety of foods.
• Stores left over foods properly.
• Performs necessary clean up work.
• Represents the school and the school district in an ethical and professional manner at all times.
• Maintains regular, on-time attendance.
• Adheres to all policies and procedures of the Indian River School District as established by the Board of Education and the Superintendent.
• Performs other assigned duties.

Qualifications:

• Is a high school graduate or equivalent.
• Demonstrates the tact to deal amicably and effectively with people.
• Is physically able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and 50 feet.
• Clean Criminal Background Check, TB test and child protection registry clearance must be completed prior to start of employment.
