Description
Primary Purpose:
Provide leadership in the developing, monitoring, revising and providing instructional oversight for assigned campus 504
student services, programming, and reporting. Responsible for the effective and efficient operation of section 504, to
include dyslexia and homebound. Provide support to students, parents, teachers, counselors and administrators in the
identification, evaluation and development of a 504 plan, designed to support students in need of support. Manage and
facilitate national, state, and campus based testing for the high school and freshman center.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Valid Texas teaching certificate
Bachelor’s degree in education
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of 504 procedures, and intervention
Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
Strong knowledge of the academic, emotional and health needs of students receiving 504 accommodations
(health, academic, dyslexia, homebound)
Strong knowledge of effective interventions and progress monitoring
Knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to Section 504.
Working knowledge of e-STAR (preferred)
Ability to develop and evaluate programs and program effectiveness
Ability to implement policy, procedures and data
Experience:
Three (3) years of teaching experience

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Collaborates with internal and external personnel (e.g. other administrators, teachers, public agencies, community
members, etc.) for the purpose of implementing and/or assigned services and programs in order to meet the
educational needs of students.
2. Support the compliance and monitoring of 504 and identification and implementation within the assigned campuses.
3. Monitor and use eSTAR with for the 504 process.
4. Coordinate with assessment and accountability department to supervise testing accommodations and assignments for
all 504 students on assigned campuses for STAAR testing.
5. Coordinate professional development for assigned campus personnel to include all aspects of 504 identification and
implementation.
6. Articulate the District’s mission.
7. Perform other related duties as assigned.

14. Be available by phone, email, or video conferencing to confer with district personnel, students, and/or parents.
15. Communicate with students or parents on a regular basis via phone or video conference, email, or district-approved
website.
16. Maintain confidentiality.
17. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
