School Psychologist 2025-2026

• Provide consultation to IEP teams that emphasize improved educational performance.
• Screen and evaluate referred children, including selecting appropriate instruments, administering tests, observations, and writing reports that state the evaluation summary, adverse effects, and need for specially designed instruction
• Participate as a member of the multidisciplinary team and the individualized education program (IEP) team, contributing evaluation findings and collaborating on the child’s educational plan.
• Provide collaborative consultation and documentation of results, including assisting general education staff with suggestions and implementation of RTI, pre-referral intervention strategies, and providing recommendations and modifications to assist basic education staff in working with special education students in the classroom setting.
• Consult with parents, teachers, and other appropriate staff regarding the child’s program and any adaptations/materials needed to facilitate improved performance in the classroom or at home.
• Provide direct services through safety assessments, crisis intervention, and advising parents, teachers, and administrators.
• Maintain appropriate data on students to document current levels of performance and other pertinent information. Re-evaluate, as appropriate, to determine the extent of progress and effectiveness of therapy.
• Adhere to the ethical standards and codes of the profession and the established rules, regulations, and laws governing special education programs. Participate in activities that promote professional development and use clinical/educational research to enhance educational and behavioral plans, as well as therapy services.
• Supports and implements District policies, regulations, procedures, and administrative directives. Supports and follows the policies and procedures of the school districts.
• Submits records, reports, and assignments promptly and efficiently.
• Foster connections between schools, families, and the community. Maintains relationships with colleagues and collaborates with other professionals in the community who provide services to children and families.
• Demonstrates ability to adjust to and use new approaches in the performance of his/her duties. 
• Seeks and takes advantage of opportunities for professional growth.           
• Demonstrates knowledge of federal, state, and local rules, regulations, and laws.
• Attends meetings, such as faculty meetings, special education meetings, and parent-teacher conferences.
• Serves on committees, such as curriculum development committee, school-based committees, and/or speech-language program development meetings.
• Schedules interventions using a variety of service delivery models.
• Determines the Adverse Effects of the student’s impairment regarding accessing the general curriculum.
• Knows and follows school policy and the chain of command.
• Acts ethically and confidentially in all aspects of employment.
• Performs such school-related duties as assigned by the supervisor. 

Education:
Master's/Specialist in School Psychology 

Certification:
State of Idaho Pupil Personnel Certification for School Psychology
