It is a joint district including all of Gem County and a small portion of Boise County. The School District of Emmett was chartered January 31, 1885, prior to the State becoming a State in 1890. Independent School District #221 "Emmett School District" 400 S Pine Street Emmett, ID 83617 Mission & Goals The Mission of Independent School District 221, Gem County, is to create an environment where all children can learn, where all children are given the opportunity to reach their potential and where all children may strive to be productive, responsible citizens of society. GOAL #1 Develop educational programs and services designed to meet the academic and vocational needs of all children. GOAL #2 Develop educational programs and services designed to teach students how to use information, how to communicate effectively, and how to use modern technology. GOAL #3 Develop a safe environment that is drug free and violence free. GOAL #4 Develop educational programs and services designed to meet the special needs of children. GOAL #5 Develop a responsive educational system designed to help meet the educational needs of the patrons of Gem County. GOAL #6 Develop an educational environment with programs designed to recruit and retain the most competent and capable educators to fill certified and classified positions. GOAL #7 Develop polices and procedures to ensure financial support, financial stability, and fiscal responsibility in District #221.
