Description
Primary Purpose:
Maintain accurate attendance records for the campus. Under close supervision, perform data entry including
attendance, Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) data, and grades. Work with Management
Information Systems (MIS) to satisfy the state and district guidelines. Ensure compliance with Texas Education
Agency (TEA).
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High School diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets and databases, and do word processing
Proficient in keyboarding, 10-key numerical data entry, and file maintenance
Ability to meet established deadlines
Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Effective organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
Data entry experience or previous school experience, preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Records and Reports
1. Collect and enter attendance and PEIMS data into established database and verify accuracy according to
prescribed procedures.
2. Maintain student records and process requests for student information and transcripts. Process new student
records, including requesting transcripts and records from other schools.
3. Assist parents, students, and faculty with questions regarding student attendance.
4. Manage Texas Records Exchange (TREX) requests and process responses.
5. Distribute report cards to teachers.
6. Enter and verify PEIMS responsibility codes for fall, spring, and summer collection.
7. Verify student’s information in PEIMS PET database and research all PID errors.
8. Compile, maintain, file, and distribute all reports, records, and other documents as required following
established procedures.

9. Assist in campus office as needed.
10. Be available by phone, email, or video conferencing to confer with district personnel, students, and/or
parents.
11. Communicate with students or parents on a regular basis via phone or video conference, email, or districtapproved website.
12. Maintain confidentiality.
13. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
