Description

Summary:
The English Learner Interventionist provides academic and social support for English Learner students at the elementary level.  They will work with the principal, EL teacher, and classroom teachers to identify students, develop and implement a plan to ensure an effective and positive learning experience for students.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide academic support to the students, by working alongside students within the classroom or pulling students out for individual and small group lessons.
  • Monitor student progress to determine skill level that will allow them to have success in the classroom.  This may involve proctoring standardized tests.
  • Form positive relationships that encourage and motivate students.
  • Aid in the communication between parents, students and teacher when needed.
  • Participate in school meetings, training sessions, assemblies, programs and school events within the school day.
  • Perform various clerical duties and other duties as assigned by the building principal.
  • May be asked to help with translation, for both students and parents (if they are fluent in the given language).

Qualifications:
  • BA or Associates degree in an education-related field and/or teacher certification preferred but not required; related work experience preferred.
  • Must have communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, staff and parents.

Schedule:
25/26 School Year
15.5 hours /week
3.1 hours/day, 5 days/week


Compensation:
Level II - $14.41 - $16.87 per hour
