System Profile The Alcoa City Schools consist of three schools located near Springbrook Park and the Duck Pond. Approximate Enrollment Elementary – grades Pk-4 ........... 710 students Middle – grades 5-8.................... 510 students High – grades 9-12..................... 560 students Total Enrollment ........................ 1,780 students Notes of Interest • Over 90% of our non-administrative certified staff have a masters degree or higher • 33% of our non-administrative certified staff have an EDS degree or higher Academics We are very proud of the academic success of our students and the quality of education in all three schools. Alcoa City Schools consistently ranks at or near the top of the state in student achievement scores determined by each spring’s TCAP testing. In May of 2009, the Middle School was recognized by the State’s Commissioner for Education as one of the top performing schools in the state for value-added scores. The High School has scored above the state average for ACT scores for the last five years. Alcoa City School System is listed as “In Good Standing” according to No Child Left Behind standards and is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
