Shawano School District

Description

The Shawano School District (SSD) provides a high quality well-rounded education designed to help every student discover, develop and flourish. Besides our outstanding general classes, the district also provides opportunities in technical education, art, music, and physical education to support a comprehensive educational program. Students find enrichment in self directed activities, advance placement classes as well as in a variety of athletic and club activities. The Shawano School District provides an environment which allows students to learn, grow, and succeed. Our schools have established clear expectations for our students and take active steps to teach, model and reinforce these behaviors school wide holding all students accountable for their actions. Upon graduation, students leave SSD with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in work and life. High School: Shawano Community High School (SCHS) provides a well-rounded educational program that serves over 900 students wishing to attend college, technical school, the military, and those who will immediately enter the work force after graduation. SCHS has a number of advanced placement courses for students to achieve college credit while in high school, and a career education program that gives students hands-on experience in their chosen field. State-of-the-art technology is integrated throughout the school providing students with access to information along with an exceptional fine arts program and foreign language offering. SCHS offers a wide array of co-curricular opportunities for many interests. Elementary Schools: The district has two elementary schools, Hillcrest Primary School which serves about 650 students in grades 4K through 2 and Olga Brener Intermediate School which serves approximately 500 students in grades 3 through 5. Both of our elementary schools provide an environment that stimulates a curiosity and eagerness for learning. Staff members he
