Description

At an elevation of 835 feet above sea level Okanogan enjoys the typical moderate climate of the Okanogan Valley. Less than an hour's drive to the east is the high desert of the Columbia Plateau while the same drive to the west leads to the subalpine and alpine Cascade Mountains. The City of Okanogan is the county seat with the flavor of yesterday and amenities of today. Okanogan embraces its authentic historic aspects including wonderful, unique architecture in our courthouse, downtown buildings, churches and homes. --Okanogan's K-12 school system maintains the high standards required to prepare students for any future they desire --Wenatchee Valley College North, in nearby Omak, offers many Associate degree courses, college prep courses and workforce training --Heritage College, also in Omak, offers degrees courses without leaving the area
