Description
The Kershaw County School District serves approximately 10,000 students at 20 school sites. All schools are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the South Carolina Department of Education. The Kershaw County School District employs over 1,300. This number includes both certified and non-certified staff. The Kershaw County School District has one of the highest graduation rates in the state. Every 9th and 10th grader in the district has been given a laptop computer. In two more years, every high school student will have a laptop as part of the district's innovative i-CAN project which is revolutionizing high school instruction. Kershaw County is one of only 12 districts in the state to have SAT scores above the national average. Current scores are 37 points above the state average.

The mission of the Kershaw County School District, which unifies the county through partnerships with parents and communities, is to prepare students to excel and contribute as productive and responsible citizens in a global society by ensuring innovative and challenging learning experiences.
