Description
West Point Public Schools serve students of West Point, along with non-resident tuition students from the surrounding counties. West Point High School serves as the educational setting for grades 9-12 with a student population of 279. Students are provided a variety of programs including general education, college preparatory, and vocational. The West Point Middle School serves students in grades 6-8 with an enrollment of 184. West Point Elementary School serves students in grades K-5 with a population of 322. West Point Schools maintain a faculty of 78.
Mission Statement
It is the mission of the West Point School System to maximize the intellect and abilities of all of our children so they will: be prepared for a life of continuous learning; be happy; be fulfilled; and, at a minimum, be able to provide the basic necessities of life for themselves and their future families. This mission will be accomplished by providing the best educational opportunities possible in an environment which is safe, comfortable, and condusive to learning and by assuring that all of our students take advantage of this "environment for learning."
