Salem City Public Schools

The City of Salem is located just west of Roanoke in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Salem is the home to Roanoke College. The school division consists of 4 elementary schools, 1 middle school and 1 high school. About 3,900 students are enrolled annually. Salem salaries consistently rank among the top 10% in Virginia. The area is served by the Roanoke Higher Education Center, which provides access to graduate programs at VA Tech, the University of Virginia, Radford University, James Madison University, Old Dominion University and Hollins University.
