Welcome to Pittsylvania County Schools – “a great place to learn and work!” Pittsylvania County School Division is the largest employer in Pittsylvania County, located in south-central Virginia between Lynchburg and Danville. We have 10 elementary schools (preK-5), 4 middle schools (6-8), 4 high schools (9-12), 1 Career Technical education school, 1 Alternative School, and a Stem Academy. We also participate in the Regional Governor's School & AET program. We have 8150 students and 765 teachers. New for 2021-2022 is a STEM program for 9th and 10th graders for Advanced Career Connections and Health & Medical Sciences. Students have the opportunity to participate in a Gifted Program, AP/Honors courses at the high school level and a variety of sports and extra-curricular activities in middle and high school levels.
