Description

New Kent is a rural school district, located in between Richmond and Williamsburg. The school division has over 400 employees, with approximately 200 licensed teachers, six guidance counselors, four media specialists, four principals, five assistant principals, and a central office staff composed of the superintendent and four directors.

Mission Statement

In New Kent County, we believe teaching is the noblest of professions. With an enrollment of nearly 2,800 students in four schools, New Kent County Public Schools has a pupil-to-teacher ratio of 21 to 1 on the elementary level and 23 to 1 at the middle and high school levels. New Kent County Public Schools are building excellence in academics and extracurricular programs. The final SOL results for 2004-05 resulted in one hundred percent of our schools reaching full accreditation. Each school also meets the Adequate Yearly Progress targets of the No Child Left Behind Act.
