Description

Gloucester County is located at the southeast end of Virginia's Middle Peninsula. It is in close proximity to major metropolitan areas in Virginia. Gloucester County is just 25 miles from Colonial Williamsburg, 45 miles north of Norfolk, and 59 miles east of the state capitol, Richmond. Within an hour of Gloucester, there are three (3) international airports and twelve (12) regional hospitals. Over 500 classroom teachers, librarians, guidance counselors, special education teachers and other instructional personnel work together to meet the basic educational needs of over 5,000 students. The students attend one high school, two middle schools, and five elementary schools that are all accredited by the State and/or the Southern Accrediting Association.
