Fluvanna County is a rural county in Central Virginia, east of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We are located just off Interstate 64, approximately 20 miles east of Charlottesville, 60 miles west of Richmond, and approximately 100 miles south of Washington, D.C. Fluvanna County Public Schools consist of five schools: Central Elementary School (PK-Grade2), Carysbrook Elementary School (Grades 3-4), Fluvanna Middle School (Grades 5-7), Fluvanna County High School (Grades 8-12) and Abrams Academy (Alternative Education) Fluvanna County Public Schools provide quality education for all students to acquire the skills, knowledge, and values needed to develop into responsible and productive citizens. The school system maintains an educational partnership of educators, learners, parents, and a dedicated community. Our targeted student -teacher ratio is 22:1. We offer a variety of programs for our students, including special education, gifted and talented education, career and technical education, and alternative education. We invite our parents and community to partner with us in order to provide a comprehensive education for each and every child.
