Colleton County School District 01

Colleton County is situated in the south eastern portion of the state of South Carolina about 40 miles from Charleston and 65 miles north of Savannah, Georgia. The county's 1049 square mile area is bordered by the beautiful Edisto and Combahee rivers which flow into St. Helena Sound. The area's population is approximately 36,800. The city of Walterboro is a major stop on Interstate 95, the most important north-south corridor for the eastern United States. Interstate 26, which connects Charleston and Asheville, North Carolina, is only 32 miles away, and these two interstate highways allow convenient access to the entire Southeast.

The mission of the Colleton County School District is to ensure that all students meet or exceed state standards in preparation to become productive citizens.
