Description

Canyons School District, the first new school district to be created in Utah in nearly a century, began offering educational services to the neighborhoods of Cottonwood Heights, Draper, Midvale, Sandy and the town of Alta on July 1, 2009. From the time of the District's founding, both the elected Board of Education and Administration have maintained a fierce dedication to building a district of national distinction. To that end, Canyons District focuses its attention on four major tenets: student achievement, innovation, community engagement and customer service The District, which covers roughly 192 square miles in the southeast part of the Salt Lake Valley, serves about 34,000 students in 29 elementary schools, 8 middle schools, 5 high schools and 7 special programs.

The mission of the Canyons District is to encourage and help every student become career and college ready and find a meaningful purpose in life. We recognize that Canyons District schools belong to the public and therefore we strive to provide superior customer service to all patrons and stakeholders of the district.
