Recovery School District-Lde

The RSD has responsibility for schools throughout the state, including most of the public schools opened in New Orleans since Hurricane Katrina. We are building a team of highly motivated and results-oriented professionals to help us reinvent public education and create superior learning environments in which every student, regardless of ability, can attain educational success. We're creating changes in our schools that will yield results. Are we where we want to be? Not yet. Are we on the right track to get there? Absolutely. The Recovery School District is a special state school district administered by the Louisiana Department of Education. Created by legislation passed in 2003, the RSD is designed to take under-performing schools and transform them into successful places for the children to learn.
