Description

This position will work at our Cedar Rapids center, 40 hours / week year round.  Full-time benefits with a starting wage range of $16.90 - $17.95 per hour.  Benefits

Job Summary
This position supports Grant Wood AEA’s Communications and Creative Services initiatives, contributing to the delivery of high-quality video, print production, and graphic design services that help partner school districts meet their communication goals.
 
Qualifications

  1. AA degree in marketing, public relations, graphic design or communications required, with at least two years of related experience preferred
  2. Knowledge, experience and demonstrated aptitude with multi-media communications including video and graphic design.
 
Essential Functions
  • Collaborates with the Communications Specialist to create communication materials for partnering school districts, including videos, newsletters, and social media graphics.
  • Prepare and optimize files for print production.
  • Operate and maintain large-format printing equipment for posters, banners, and displays.
  • On-site travel to school districtsfor video recording and print installation.

  • Follows policies, procedures, standards and rules of the Agency and industry which includes, but is not limited to, developing and maintaining proper and adequate records and documentation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively and maintain positive, customer-oriented working relationships with staff and community.
  • Flexibility to work as a team member or independently as appropriate.
  • Ability to think critically about situations, proactively anticipate and address challenges, and troubleshoot when issues arise.
  • Proficient in video editing software with a strong understanding of capturing quality video footage.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate understanding for sensitive situations.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience with pre-press file prep and large-format printing preferred.
  • Eagerness to learn.
 
Physical Requirements
  1. Ability to travel between sites served with a valid driver’s license.
  2. Normal, routine levels of bending, carrying, lifting, climbing, reaching, sitting, standing, and walking, including ability to lift and install printed materials as needed.
  3. Sufficient manual dexterity to be able to operate all equipment needed to complete assigned responsibilities.
