Baxter Comm School District

Baxter Community School District is located in beautiful central Iowa and exemplifies Midwestern values by providing excellent educational opportunities for all of its 440 students. Baxter, population ~1110, is an attractive, clean, and friendly town that is centrally located among the four cities of Des Moines, Ames, Marshalltown, and Newton. This growing community is a proud example of what can be accomplished when people work together to preserve a small-town quality of life and while providing a high-quality education. A unique history of positive collaboration allows our progressive K-12 facilities to include a School/Community Media Center and library, a shared Community Recreation Area, a shared School/Community Playground, a shared School/Community Wellness Center, and Baxter Early Learning Center, a comprehensive, school/community-supported child care/preschool center.
