Spring Branch Independent School District

Description

SBISD follows a small neighborhood school concept where attendance areas have been established for each individual school. As an established community, attendance zones rarely change in the school district. The district is home to 25 elementary schools, seven traditional middle school campuses, four traditional high schools and several choice program options. Many of SBISD’s schools consistently appear in top national school rankings, ranging from Best High Schools competitions in national magazines to the local nonprofit Children at Risk’s ranking of area secondary and elementary schools, Top High Schools in Science & Mathematics, and Best Urban, Comprehensive High Schools. Our district is composed of 35,000 students, 47 schools and 72+ Languages Spoken. Diversity makes us stronger. #CollectiveGreatness Why Teach in SBISD? Inspiring minds. Shaping lives. We promise to inspire minds and shape the lives of all learners. That promise starts with outstanding educators. We value something that other districts sometimes take for granted...the ability of educators to do what they love...teach! Ask around, and you'll hear our teachers bragging about it. We trust them to pursue their profession and to be the best at it. SBISD is comprised of more than 4,600 employees committed to providing quality education to #EveryChild by living our Core Values. Our employees are committed to student success - within the educational environment and beyond. Our graduates are effective communicators, competent problem solvers, self-directed learners and responsible citizens. A few of the many reasons to work in SBISD: • Outstanding staff development • Robust training, support and mentoring for new hires • Access to state-of-the-art technology • Limitless opportunities for advancement and career growth • Strong community support in a neighborhood school setting • Metropolitan location in a small town community • Award-winning professionals • Competitive salary and perks

Mission Statement

SBISD continues to be singularly focused on our T-2-4 goal to ensure Every Child achieves post-secondary success, be it a technical certification or military training, or a 2-year or 4-year degree. To achieve T-2-4, our system is focused on a few key priorities: At the elementary level, we are focused on literacy, numeracy, social-emotional supports and addressing the needs of our English Learners. At the secondary level, while we continue to prioritize literacy and numeracy, we also are focused on digital expansion and Career & Technical Education (CTE).
