Lubbock Independent School District

Lubbock ISD is an established district in the heart of the vast Southern Plains of West Texas. As a result of this growth, Lubbock ISD hires new teachers, counselors, librarians, nurses, administrators, paraprofessionals and others each year. The Human Resources Department for Lubbock ISD will recruit, screen, select, train and retain qualified staff members from all ethnic groups who meet the instructional needs of the students of our community. Applications are accepted and processed throughout the year. The Lubbock Independent School District covers 85.5 square miles and contains nearly 808 acres of school properties that are owned by the local taxpayers. Those properties include 51 campuses including 32 elementary, 9 middle schools, 4 high schools, Talkington School for Young Women Leaders (grades 6th- 12th), 2 special purpose and 3 alternative campuses. Lubbock ISD facilities include a state of the art Advanced Technology Center for the teaching of computer operations and programming. The ATC also instructs students in iron and wood construction and automotive technology. The district also features an Aquatic Center. Schools use this Olympic indoor facility across West Texas for swimming and diving competitions. It also trains all third grade students about water safety during a class time at their school. The Aquatic Center also offers special water fitness instruction for the staff of Lubbock ISD.
