Laredo Independent School District

The Laredo Independent School District was established in 1882. LISD is a district encompassing more than 13 square miles. It is made up of 33 educational institutions: 20 elementary schools, four middle schools, four high schools, including the Hector J. Garcia Early College High School located on the campus of Texas A&M International University, the Francisco S. Lara Academy; our alternative education campus, Jose A. Valdez High School, and three magnet schools. The three magnet schools are the Vidal M. Trevino School of Communications and Fine Arts, the Dr. Dennis D. Cantu Early College School; located at Martin High School, and the Sabas Pérez School for Engineering and Technology Education; located at Cigarroa High School. The district has a yearly average of 24,000 enrolled students and over 4,500 employees striving for academic excellence. At Laredo ISD, learning is the key to a bright and successful future.
