TITLE:                                                Academic Interventionist

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:        - 2 years of study at an institution of higher education  or,

                                                          - Associate’s degree or,

                                                          - Work Keys Assessment

                                                          - Licensure is not a MANDATORY qualification

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:    Professional Educator License College Degree

 

REPORTS TO:                                 Building Administrator

 

JOB SUMMARY:                              To provide small group instruction to regular education students. 

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:           Paid on a daily rate based on collective bargaining salary schedules.

 

EVALUATION:                                Job performance will be evaluated by the building principal.

 

PENSION SYSTEM:                     IMRF

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.    Meet with the principal as needed to go over assessment data.

2.    Implement academic interventions using research-based methodology in reading and math.

3.    Communicate with school personnel and parents of children regarding reading and/or math level and rate of progress.

4.    Differentiate instruction based on assessment data.

5.    Document interventions and progress on each child.

6.    Provide small group instruction.

7.    Develop, select, and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of students.

8.    Maintain appropriate records and follow required procedures and practices.

9.    Plan, organize, and provide instruction based on Common Core State Standards.

10.    Administer informal and formal assessments (running records).

11.    Evaluate and assess student progress.

12.    Work cooperatively with administration and staff.

13.    Perform duties as assigned.
