Cafeteria - Table Washer/Cashier
Description
TITLE: Table Washer/Cashier
TERMS: Part-Time Approximately 3.25 hours per day - 9 months - school calendar year when students are in attendance and institute or SIP days as requested by the principal/assistant principal.
Hourly Rate: $15.75/hr.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience in school food service preferred.
Successful completion of fingerprint based criminal background check (IL State Police and FBI), sex offender and violent youth offender screening, and employment physical.
REPORTS TO: Food Services Director
JOB GOAL: To oversee and clean the cafeteria and monitor the students to provide safe, healthy, and nutritious meals for the students of the Central School District 51.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Applies knowledge of the Illinois Administrative Code of Public Health and maintains a high standard of sanitation and safety and ensure all problems are corrected if any.
Washes and sanitizes the tables and chairs, using special procedures at the “allergy table” as set by the food services director.
Washes and degreases the walls outside of the cafeteria every day.
Sweeps the floor when necessary.
Ensures students purchasing extra milk follow proper procedures.
Ensures students are lined up to put away their lunch tray.
Ensures students are sitting down and well behaved until they are dismissed.
Provides supervision in the cafeteria to ensure the safety and security of students and assists students when necessary.
Reports student discipline issues to the food services director or certified staff member on duty.
Practices a high level of work ethics and excellent communication.
Maintains a good attendance record and communicates absences with the food services director.
Practices good personal hygiene and follows sanitation and safety procedures as set by the food services director.
Completes Epi-Pen training provided by the school nurse.
Maintains regular attendance and punctuality to ensure teamwork and the completion of job duties essential to the daily operation of the school.
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the principal/assistant principal and other district office administrators as designated by the superintendent.
Adheres to a professional code of ethics which includes confidentiality of school related matters and loyalty to the school district.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 9 months - school calendar year when students are in attendance and institute or SIP days as requested by the principal/assistant principal. Hourly rate approved by the Board of Education.
EVALUATION: All non-certified employees receive a minimum of one written evaluation per year. The table washer will be evaluated by the food services director in collaboration with the principal/assistant principal.
