Description
Early Childhood Family Success Coach
Qualifications:
- Degree in early childhood education, primary grades, social work, or related field
- Experience working with young children and their families
- Working knowledge of DeKalb County resources
- Ability to foster a collaborative culture; possess a team-oriented attitude
- Work within a trauma-sensitive framework with cultural competence
- Operates within an equity lens and from a strengths-based perspective
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills including maintaining confidentiality
- Proficient computer skills and data collection
- Must have reliable transportation
- Pass a Criminal History Record Information fingerprint check
- Plan, prepare, and deliver developmentally appropriate consultations to families of young children in individual or group settings either in homes or agreed upon locations
- Co-plan child development activities with families to positively impact parent-child relationships
- Collaborate with the early learning team on initiatives; contribute to the early learning team webpage, newsletter, social media, and other communications
- Recruit families through community outreach
- Provide a supportive, caring and safe environment for children
- Develop positive relationships with parents and caregivers
- Collect data for evaluation, program monitoring, and reports
- Build an appropriate schedule that maximizes time working with stakeholders
- Continuously learn and build skills by participating in professional development
- Flexibility of hours required (occasional evening or weekend work) and travel within DeKalb County mostly
Reports to: Coordinator for Early Learning Programs and the Regional Superintendent
Work schedule: 35 hours per week; 12 months
Compensation: $24-27/hour; IMRF benefits; limited paid holidays and sick time; insurance supplement
