Location: SLC
2025/2026 Support Staff Class II Hourly Rate Range: $17.50 - 26.00
Dayshift
12 month position; 8 hours per day; some extended or flex day/evenings

Reports to: Director of Building & Grounds
SUMMARY OF PURPOSE:
The Lead Custodian will oversee and coordinate all custodial responsibilities ensuring that district facilities are maintained to the highest standards. Must be knowledgeable in current cleaning practices and have supervisory experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret written and verbal information
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures using standard monetary denominations; Ability to apply standard concepts of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
Reasoning Ability: Able to solve practical problems and deal with several variables at once; Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Other Required Skills and Abilities: Perform duties with awareness of all District requirements
SCOPE AND IMPACT
This position accomplishes most tasks through standard procedure, exercising independent judgment when necessary. Internal contacts include students, District administrators, teachers, and classified staff. External contacts may include parents, community members, School Board members, and any other business or school related entities.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS
A high school diploma or equivalent or 3 months related experience and/or training is required. The following clearances must be provided upon hire and updated every five years in accordance with Act 153: PA State Police- Act 34, Child Abuse-Act 151, and FBI Fingerprint-Act 114. Child Abuse training (or proof of completion) in accordance with Act 126 upon hire and repeated every five years thereafter. A negative TB test is required upon hire.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTAL
Activities: Sitting <5%, walking/standing 95-100%, regular lifting up to 25 lbs. and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs., reaching with hands and arms, bending, crouching
Vision: Normal; Close vision, color vision and ability to focus
Mental Demands: Ability to interpret, analyze and problem solve written and verbal communications
Environment: Moderate noise level; Hot, cold, dry, wet conditions, dust, caustic/harmful chemicals and/or indoor and outdoor conditions
