Gwinnett County Public Schools

Description

Gwinnett County Public Schools is a high achieving, honored school system, located in the metro Atlanta area. GCPS is the largest school system in Georgia with more than 180,000 students and continuing to grow. That growth can be attributed to the fact that Gwinnett is a school system of choice for people moving to the Atlanta area. Gwinnett County citizens highly value the important role education plays in building a thriving, global community and they strongly support the school system’s pursuit of excellence. Gwinnett County Public Schools is a three-time finalist for the Broad Prize of Urban Education (2009, 2010 & 2014) and 2 time winner of the 2010 and 2014 Broad Prize, designating it as one of the nation’s top urban school districts. GCPS was voted a Forbes Magazine Top Employer, a 3-time Top Employer for Women, and most recently a Forbes Top State Employer. Gwinnett also boasts National Blue Ribbon Schools and a host of schools recognized at the state level. Opportunity and diversity go hand-in-hand at GCPS. Despite our size, we are a tight-knit community of teachers, parents, students, and staff that believes in supporting and helping each other succeed. When you add two retirement systems: TRS and GRS--this means greater take-home pay, genrous benefits, with earlier retirement opportunity, along with unsurpassed professional development. It's no wonder why GCPS is a state leader in public education.
