Description

Sarasota County School District consists of over 40,000 students (Pre K-12). There are 24 elementary schools, 8 middle schools, 1 elementary/middle school, 8 high schools, 3 alternative/ESE schools and 2 vocational schools. Sarasota County is a rapidly growing community located about 50 miles south of Tampa. The county’s approximate 600 square miles range from rustic ranch land to the shores of the Gulf of Mexico and Sarasota Bay. With more than 35 miles of Gulf beaches, residents are within a 15-minute drive of the most spectacular white-sand beaches in the world. Our clean air, sparkling beaches and sunny climate have made us world famous as a center for the good life. Our vibrant recreational and cultural scene offers activities for every taste and budget. We offer a great combination of big city amenities and small town ease of living.

The mission of the school district of Sarasota County Human Resources Department is to attract, develop, and retain an outstanding, diverse staff for the purpose of educating children to the maximum potential by implementing equitable employment practices.
