Sarasota County School District consists of over 40,000 students (Pre K-12). There are 24 elementary schools, 8 middle schools, 1 elementary/middle school, 8 high schools, 3 alternative/ESE schools and 2 vocational schools. Sarasota County is a rapidly growing community located about 50 miles south of Tampa. The county’s approximate 600 square miles range from rustic ranch land to the shores of the Gulf of Mexico and Sarasota Bay. With more than 35 miles of Gulf beaches, residents are within a 15-minute drive of the most spectacular white-sand beaches in the world.
