Description

Welcome to the Okeechobee County School District...where we’re “Achieving Excellence”! Find Something More....Naturally in Okeechobee County...on the north shore of Lake Okeechobee. We are seeking top educators who are committed to excellence for every student, and we invite you to consider joining our exciting educational team at our outstanding, top-rated, public school. With an enrollment of over 7,000 students, the district has experienced slow, steady growth throughout the modern era. We have not experienced reductions in force, other than temporary summer lay-offs, in half a century. We currently have 5 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, 1 freshman campus, 1 regular high school, and 1 alternative high school. All of these schools are in modern facilities or in totally renovated historical buildings. The district office is in the first brick school building (1916) and the Okeechobee Freshman Campus is housed in the original brick high school (1925). Most of our portable classrooms have been eliminated. In Okeechobee County, we support our new teachers. Our administrators empower our teachers and staff and we offer an environment that rewards and recognizes teachers for the contributions they have made to impact student achievement and make our schools great. Our teachers are professionals and we treat them as professionals by offering continuing education and opportunities to stay abreast of the latest technology and ‘best practices’. We continue to value our teachers input and always strive to make Okeechobee County Schools a productive, successful, and top rated school district. We offer a Competitive Salary, Excellent Benefits, Professional Development, Alternative Certification, an Educator Support System and Florida Retirement.
