Welcome to the Nassau County School District located in beautiful Fernandina Beach, Florida! Nassau County is located in the northeast corner of Florida at the Georgia border, 30 miles north of Jacksonville, and is bordered to the east by the Atlantic Ocean. Our county seat is located in Fernandina Beach. The Nassau County School District operates 18 schools (9 elementary, 3 middle, and 3 high schools, and 1 middle-senior high school, 1 virtual) and an adult education and career technical program in 5 communities throughout a county that encompasses 649 square miles in the most northeastern corner of Florida. The district is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and has been recognized by the Florida Department of Education as “Academically High-Performing,” and as an “A” school district since 2003. In recent years, the district’s student enrollment has remained relatively stable with approximately 12,300 students. Our Average Teacher: Student Ratio is 1:17. A single feeder pattern of schools exists in each community to serve students from Kindergarten through 12th grade.
