We're located off of I-10 near I-75, and only a short drive from our beautiful Florida State Capitol Tallahassee, and about 1.5 hours from the gorgeous beaches of Jacksonville. Nestled against the Georgia border just south of Valdosta, we offer an unexpected wealth of pleasures to our residents and visitors alike. For the history-minded, there are centuries-old landmarks, homes, communities and antique shops. For nature lovers, every imaginable recreation is available in our broad expanses of forests, rivers, lakes and springs, where bike trails, canoe trails, equestrian paths and hiking trails abound. Madison County has an overall population over 19,000. The town of Madison, with a population of just over 3,000, is designated one of the Best Little Towns in Florida by 'VISIT FLORIDA', the state tourism development agency. In addition to Madison, our county has other towns of Greenville and Lee, each with less than 1,000 residents, and also included are our smaller communities of Pinetta, Cherry Lake, Hamburg, Lovett, New Home, Sirmons and Eridu.
