Hardee County Public Schools

Description

Hardee County is a quaint community in the heart of Central Florida. Our school district serves approximately 5,000 students through our seven Title 1 schools: five elementary schools, one junior high school and one high school. Additionally, one alternative school is available to our secondary school population. There are many opportunities available for teachers and staff in our school district who have an interest in coaching sports or sponsoring a club/organization. Our district’s small size and established bell schedules provide flexibility for elementary teachers to coach or sponsor activities at our secondary schools. One of our district’s greatest strengths is our commitment to supporting new teachers; all of our elementary schools are staffed with a full time instructional coach and our secondary schools each have at least two full time instructional coaches. Our instructional coaches offer extensive support to new teachers and provide a welcomed lifeline to those transitioning into a teaching career. As a result of the extensive pride within the community for all of our public schools, students and teachers benefit greatly from the support of local business partners and community members. Those of us who live in Hardee County believe that our community is the best kept secret in our state; a quiet town with virtually no commute to work and a quick 45 minute – 1 ¼ hour drive to Lakeland, Sarasota, Tampa or St. Petersburg when we are looking for weekend fun or beach time! For more information on what Hardee County has to offer our residents, visit our Chamber of Commerce website: https://www.hardeecc.com/ We would love to learn more about you and share the opportunities we have available to foster your teaching career.
