Welcome to Franklin County Schools! We are very proud of our district and the approximately 1,400 students who are educated within the three schools of our district. Our district offers a comprehensive curriculum, including Advanced Placement and Vocational Programs, through a system that includes preschool, elementary school, middle school, high school, and adult school programs. Our district is affiliated with Florida Virtual High School, providing online courses for our students. Technical/Career (Vocational) courses are offered through direct instruction, interactive TV, and distance learning. Located in Florida's Northwestern Panhandle approximately 80 miles southwest of the State capitol, Tallahassee, the area of Franklin County is highly valued for our unspoiled natural environment, the coastal communities of Apalachicola, St. George Island & Eastpoint offer an authentic taste of Florida's Gulf Coast with plenty of charm & history. You’ll find miles of uncrowded pristine beaches, an endless supply of protected shallow bays, excellent fishing & acres of National and State forests to explore. Our county is comprised of 545 square miles and 348,800 acres making it one of the State's largest counties. Franklin County serves more than 11,000 residents. Vision: The Franklin District School System – a public school system that provides a student-focused comprehensive educational experience, developing responsible citizens that reach their maximum positive potential, while meeting required objectives. Mission Statement: Franklin County School District’s employees are committed to providing a student-focused comprehensive educational experience to meet both required objectives and a long-term goal of developing responsible citizens. To accomplish our mission, we will seek and provide visionary leadership, focus our decisions and activities to provide the maximum learning opportunities for each student and employ sound fiscal management practices. Our mission will be realized in the context of a safe, nurturing and positive environment that values the contributions and needs of individuals while working effectively with our Board, staff, parents, and community to achieve our shared vision of a brighter tomorrow for our students.
