Description

Job Posting: Classroom Teacher

Organization/Location:  Orange Public Schools, 637 Orange Center Road, Orange, CT  06477

Position: Certified classroom teacher needed for our K - 6 district. Grade level is yet to be determined.

Requirements:

  • State of Connecticut Elementary Education Teaching Certificate

  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching

  • Must be flexible and willing to learn/engage in district professional development initiatives and sessions

  • Willing to engage with the Orange Adult Learning Plan to become familiar with past/current learning

  • Effective communicator

  • Technology literate

  • Excellent classroom management

  • Support of district initiatives

  • Qualifications:

    • Experience as an elementary classroom teacher (preferred)

    • Experience with current evidence/research-based practices in Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Social Emotional Learning, and Science

    • Understanding/experience with the Science of Reading (preferred)

    • Experience with Early Reading Success (preferred) 

  • In-depth knowledge of Common Core State Standards for K-6 grade levels

  • Familiarity with NGSS

  • Familiarity with RULER (preferred)

  • Open to feedback and learning opportunities

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Responsibilities: 

    • Engage students in learning

    • Differentiate instruction

    • Diagnose student challenges and prescribe precise instruction/intervention 

    • Monitor student progress

    • Maintain excellent records

    • Create conditions for student success

    • Engage in professional learning to improve student well-being and achievement

    • Work collaboratively with colleagues

    • Maintain curriculum operational data demonstrated in Teacher Maps 

    • Attend SRBI and Data Team Meetings prepared with accurate data, entered in data sheets prior to meetings

    • Maintain student confidentiality

    Term/Duration: To start August 20, 2025.

    Salary: Determined by Orange Teachers’ League contract
