Columbia School District

Columbia, Connecticut is a beautiful small town with a lake, bike trails, preserved open space and a commitment to providing a wonderful quality of life to its children and families. The residents of Columbia consistently demonstrate their commitment to the education of their children through ongoing support of the annual school budget. The Horace W. Porter School provides exceptional educational programming and services to Columbia students from preschool through grade eight. High school students from Columbia are offered the option of attending either E.O. Smith High School (Region 19) or Bolton High School. Contracts with the two high schools have recently been approved through June of 2030. Students may also apply to Windham Technical School. While these high schools provide differing size and settings, they all offer rigorous and broad educational programs. Columbia is one of only a few towns in the State to offer these high school options for our students.
