Known as the city of “Pride and Progress” Holyoke is the county seat of Phillips County and situated on the beautiful high plains of northeastern Colorado. The county is one of the country’s most productive agricultural regions, especially for pivot-irrigation farming. The residents are primarily involved in agriculture or provide services to the agricultural industry. The idyllic town of 2,300 has an active and supportive business community with numerous shops and businesses along with other amenities such as a full service hospital, a movie theater, indoor swimming pool, nine hole golf course and a number of other recreation activities. Holyoke JH/HS is a productive and progressive school. Parental engagement is high and disciplinary issues are minimal and there is a high level of diversity that makes up for a productive and positive student body. Holyoke is one of the best school districts in northeastern Colorado. We offer a wide range of activities for students. We have a diverse student population with a harmonic blend between Hispanic and White students. Over 95% of our students are involved in at least one extra-curricular activity. Holyoke School High School pioneered random drug testing for students in extra-curricular activities and a very low average (less than 5 incidents) of positive tests. The junior/senior high has a population of 272 busy,productive students. The school is the heart of our community. District-wide free and reduced lunch rate is 45.8%.
