Fresno Unified School District is located in the heart of California. It is the fourth largest unified school district in California with 106 schools and 73,000 students. The student population is diverse, with approximately 100 languages and dialects spoken. ?Because of the district's size and varied student population, there are countless unique opportunities to contribute significantly to the community. Each school's accountability report card lists a number of business and community partnerships; the ways in which they are involved range from raising money, to tutoring and mentoring, to coaching mock trial teams. Much of Fresno Unified's guiding philosophies are based on the "Choosing Our Future" task force report, which was put together by a collection of Fresno citizens. FUSD schools consistently receive Title I Academic Achievement Awards, National NCLB Blue Ribbon School Awards, and California Distinguished Schools.
