Siloam Springs School District contains five campuses with a total enrollment of approximately 3,400 students with a minority population of 31%. The current millage rate is 40.0 and the annual budget is approximately $21,000,000 with a $6,651 expenditure per child. Teachers' salaries average approximately $44,200. The school district, in cooperation with John Brown University, has entered into a collaborative partnership dedicated to the simultaneous redesign of teacher education and renewal of K-12 teacher education through the development of the Professional Development School. Siloam Springs is located in one of the fastest growing regions in the United States. It is in the Northwest corner of Arkansas on the Oklahoma border and covers approximately 152 square miles. Siloam Springs has a population of approximately 12,000 and is home to John Brown University, a private Christian college with approximately 1,500 students, located only 1/4 mile from the Siloam Springs High School campus. Many major industries are located in Siloam Springs including Allen Canning Company, Cobb-Vantress, DaySpring Cards, Franklin Electric, Gates Rubber, La-Z-Boy, PipeLife-JetStream, and Simmons Foods. Siloam Springs is also located close to the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, the Northwest Arkansas Community College in Bentonville, and Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. The Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport (XNA) is only fifteen minutes from Siloam Springs.
